Job summary

ABM Industries at George Washington University in Washington, DC seeks an Overnight Custodial Zone Manager to own contracted services, lead operations, and ensure cost control. Night shift Tue-Sat 10:00PM-7:00AM EST, focusing on recruitment, safety, productivity, and quality.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and extensive custodial experience, including at least 2 years in supervision; a driver’s license and ability to complete ABM/client screenings are also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree in facilities management, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Preferred 10 years of custodial or janitorial experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to complete screenings for ABM and the client.
• Experience with custodial management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Full scope of work evaluation of custodial frontline staff.
• Manage cleaning task assignments and monitor completion to ensure standards are met.
• Assign and conduct inspections of assigned buildings and facilities.
• Provide ongoing training on cleaning procedures, safety, and equipment use.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules for daily, weekly, and periodic tasks.
• Coordinate support for special events, emergencies, and seasonal projects.
