Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a dedicated CNA for the Port Charlotte location on a PRN basis. The role involves overnight shifts (8pm–8:30am) supporting hospice patients and their families, with a commitment of 64 hours per month.

As part of Empath Health, you will provide compassionate, dignified care within a mission-driven team. A valid Florida CNA license and experience in long-term care are preferred, with driver’s license required only if traveling between facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA license).
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required.
• One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License if driving between facilities is required, at employee expense.

Responsibilities

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment by a health professional.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.
