The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as a caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Provides assistance with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, and recording vital signs, while adhering to the plan of care.

Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and documents outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 18 preferred.
• CNA certification may be required per state.
• Continued education credits as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record vital signs and document care outcomes.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and mobility.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and activities.
