Job summary

Great River Health in Iowa is seeking a Clinical Resource Supervisor to lead educational initiatives, training programs, and supervision within the clinical setting. You will work with department managers to coach staff, assign work, and ensure real-time clinical support, including telemetry interpretation and ECG/ALS courses.

The role requires an AA in Nursing, with a BA/BS preferred, and board certification in nursing education or acute care.

Qualifications

  • AA in Nursing required.
  • BA/BS in Nursing preferred.
  • Board certification in nursing education or acute care preferred.
  • 1–3 years experience in area; 2–5 years preferred.
  • 1–3 years experience as preceptor/mentor preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and make recommendations to leadership regarding meeting clinical staff needs.
  • Provide coaching in real time, e.g., preceptor and orientation.
  • Collaborate with leaders to maintain and develop staff knowledge through in-services and required education.
  • Provide information to leaders by telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Assist in implementing changes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve patient care delivery through increased skill or competence.
  • Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and equipment use and maintenance.
  • Oversee workflow of the department and communicate standards.
  • Ensure documentation adheres to department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff; provide ongoing clinical support.
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions.
