Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a pharmacist for 7 consecutive night shifts (9pm–7am), Thursday through Thursday, with a 7-on/7-off schedule and eligibility for a sign-on bonus up to $15,000.

The pharmacist will provide safe, patient-centered medication services, perform dispensing and sterile compounding, operate automated systems, respond to high-acuity events, verify orders, document care, and educate students and staff.

Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification through AHA/Red Cross and immunization administration training within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS or PALS certification through AHA or within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
• Independently handles full scope of daytime pharmacy operations during night shifts, ensuring safe and timely dispensing.
• Performs dispensing, verification, sterile compounding, and automation system operation.
• Responds to high-acuity events with bedside support and acts as on-site pharmacist.
• Reasons through downtime, escalates issues to on-call leadership, IT, and facilities as needed.
• Verifies medication orders per regulations and documents services.
• Maintains compliance with accreditation standards and professional interactions with patients and staff.
• Educates and trains students, residents, and other caregivers.
