Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL, seeks a Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) for the Intermediate Care / Stepdown unit. Night shifts, full-time schedule, with a $36.75–$55.70 hourly range and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

The role supervises staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains high‑quality patient care. Required: active RN license, BLS/ACLS on hire, BSN preferred, 2+ years clinical nursing experience with leadership; CCRN/NRP preferred for ICUs.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certificate upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
• ACLS certificate upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• NRP required 90 days after hire and maintained for non‑OB facilities.
• Professional certification within 2 years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight for an assigned acute care unit.
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and staff development.
• Assume responsibility for unit operations and provide direct patient care as needed in the absence of department leadership.
• Lead daily nursing operations and supervise clinical staff.
• Ensure quality patient care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource utilization.
• Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Drive quality improvement and operational excellence.
• Serve as unit leader when the Director or Nurse Manager is absent.
• Provide direct patient care within RN scope of practice as required.
