Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced CIRT Tier 2 Analyst to support its Federal Strategic Cyber Mission program in Beltsville, MD. The role requires on-site work with a mid shift (22:00–6:00 EST, Tue-Sat) and involves detecting and responding to cyber security incidents in a 24x7 environment.

You will analyze logs from multiple sources, perform malware analysis, and coordinate with CISA and other CIRTs. U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience in Incident Response lifecycle and SOC operations.
• Certifications such as CCNA-Security, CySA+, GSEC, Security+ CE are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Detect, classify, report on cyber security events and incidents.
• Analyze logs from host, EDR, firewalls, and servers to identify threats.
• Characterize network traffic to identify anomalies and threats.
• Collaborate with DoS/State/CISA teams to respond to incidents.
• Monitor and respond to SOAR platform and ticketing systems.
• Create tickets and initiate workflows per SOPs.
