Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, Colorado is seeking a part-time night-shift healthcare support role. The candidate will obtain and record patient vitals, assist with activities of daily living, and ensure patient safety and skin integrity.

The role involves hourly rounding, responding to calls, and collaboration with nurses and other departments to maintain a safe, efficient unit. Qualifications include EMT or Paramedic preferred, CPR/BLS, and high school diploma; additional preferred items include

• Reads and follows directions from RNs and managers; supports unit secretary.
• Delivers/picks up items and coordinates with other departments.

Job Description:

Obtains and records pain rating, weight, height, intake and output, and finger stick blood glucose. Demonstrates efficiency with safety lights, turns, and positioning of patients to ensure correct body alignment and maintain skin integrity. Assists patients with ADLs, including passing meals, nourishments, and fresh water at bedside. Participates in hourly rounding and answers call lights in a timely manner. Reports changes in vital signs and patient status to appropriate staff. Maintains a clean, organized environment and helps with inventory of supplies and equipment. Follows directions of registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and managers. Supports the unit secretary by answering phones and directing patients and visitors. Delivers and picks up items from other departments and interacts with all ancillary departments. Completes other duties as assigned and proactively anticipates the needs of other team members. Other duties as assigned.

• 1+ medical terminology or unit clerk experience [Preferred]
• 12-lead EKG experience [Preferred]
• EMT or Paramedic experience [Preferred]
• Vacular Sheath pull training /experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required] OR
• EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
