Responsibilities

• Manages nursing staffing to meet approved standards within budget parameters.
• Evaluates and adjusts staffing for current and upcoming shifts.
• Coaches and counsels nursing staff per hospital policies.
• Monitors attendance and timekeeping compliance.
• Provides clinical expertise in patient placement and bed availability discussions.
• Facilitates patient movement and transfers based on patient needs.
• Communicates with staff, patients, and families to resolve problems and promote continuity of care.
• Serves as a clinical resource for patient care and problem resolution.
• Assists in revision and development of unit policies and procedures.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and staff education.
