Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking a Back-Up Machine Operator for the week-night shift (Mon-Thurs, 5:55 PM–5:55 AM). You will support the packaging operator, relieve the production line, and help keep lines running smoothly.

This role requires basic math/reading skills, the ability to stand all day, and mechanical aptitude. Prior machine operating and food manufacturing experience are preferred, with lifting up to 40 lbs. Equal emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• Must be willing and able to stand 100% of the time.
• Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Prior machine operating experience.
• Prior food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Moderate lifting (40lbs).

Responsibilities

• Supplies production lines with needed materials.
• Places skids of cardboard at tables and packing stations.
• Moves product from packing area to warehouse by pulling handjack filled with product.
• Transports rolls of packaging film.
• Ability to lift roll stock (80 lbs.) onto packaging machine chest level every 1 to 2 hours.
• Starts and stops power to the machine, vibrator and conveyor.
• Operates labeling equipment.
• Substitutes for Packaging Machine Operator during breaks, lunches, illness and vacations.
