Job summary

Stonington Institute in Groton, CT is hiring a Security Guard to protect and monitor our facility supporting substance use disorder treatment services. The role requires attentiveness, reliability and a commitment to safety during the 10:45 pm – 7:15 am shift with weekend rotation.

You will conduct rounds, check doors and locks, document incidents, and enforce site policies while collaborating with a broader Universal Health Services system for quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in security/safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend shift report meetings at the beginning of each shift.
• Monitor all buildings/grounds.
• Enforce rules and regulations, including curfew. Check all windows, doors, and locks.
• Inspect outside grounds for trespassers or unauthorized activity.
• Ensure company vehicle(s) at site are locked and secure.
• Complete documentation as required (rounds checklist, HPRs).
• Submit end of shift report daily, with incidents and contraband details.
