Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking a Sanitation Technician to help maintain clean, safe production areas and ensure compliance with USDA and FDA regulations.

Staff will follow the Master Sanitation Schedule, operate power washers, steamers, foam applicators and similar equipment to keep the facility spotless. The role supports continuous improvement, including 5S, with night shift responsibilities and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest food safety and sanitation standards.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 50lbs regularly.
• Capability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule to clean and sanitize all areas of the plant, ensuring food safety and quality in every step of production.
• Operate powered cleaning equipment, including power washers, steamers, foam applicators, and more, to maintain a spotless facility and equipment.
• Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation, preventing contamination and ensuring thorough cleaning.
• Operate equipment such as floor jacks, trash compactors, and vacuum cleaners safely and efficiently.
• Respond quickly and effectively to any spills or contamination risks, keeping the facility in top condition.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follow proper lifting techniques, and adhere to all safety standards to ensure personal and team safety.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), ensuring the highest level of operational efficiency.
