Job summary

OU Health is hiring an RN Resident for the Comprehensive Care Unit on the University of Oklahoma Medical Center campus. This full-time night shift position (7p–7a) offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for qualified individuals and student loan repayment up to $25,000.

The unit provides care across medical-surgical, step-down and EMU acuity levels in a 29-bed setting. Minimum qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, 0–3 years of RN experience, and an active RN license

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 0-3 years of patient care as a Registered Nurse.
• License/Certification/Registration: Current RN license, BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments; notes changes in physician orders.
• Assists physician in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Informs patient and family of procedures and care plan; discharge planning.
