Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking a Radiographer to join the Diagnostic Imaging department. The role involves performing radiographic, mammographic, and fluoroscopic exams, with emphasis on proper exposure factors and patient positioning.

The position requires a 2-year Radiologic Technology program, CT license, ARRT registration or eligibility, CEU maintenance, and CPR certification. A 1-year radiography experience is preferred; a compassionate, teamwork-focused mindset is valued.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year approved Radiological Technology Program required.
• Current license in the State of Connecticut required.
• Registered, or registry eligible, with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
• Maintenance of appropriate CEUs to meet ARRT guidelines required.
• CPR – Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required.
• Approved vein puncture and lab procedures according to the Laboratory policies, if applicable, is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year practical experience performing related duties as a radiographer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of radiographic, mammographic, and fluoroscopic exams with mobile and stationary equipment as approved.
• Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient, staff and self.
• Explain the procedure to the patient and assist with positioning.
• Assist physicians in administering prescribed contrast media.
