Job summary

Abbott in San Diego is seeking a QA Specialist I to support in-process and final release testing for medical devices. This 6-month, onsite role requires 2-5 years of related experience and a high school diploma; a BS in science is preferred. You will train new staff and ensure documentation meets ISO and FDA standards.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel is expected, with strong organization and multitasking abilities to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High School/GED graduate or equivalent.
• BS in a science-related field preferred.
• 2-5 years laboratory experience in quality control/assurance or manufacturing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
• Organized and detail oriented; multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Run in-process, stability/calibration, final release, and experimental devices.
• Complete testing data and documentation.
• Review device history records.
• Train new employees/Quality Control Technician I.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and manage testing material inventory.
• Comply with Alere Quality Management System, ISO, FDA, and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
