Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Sleep Lab seeks a Certified Polysomnographic Technician to perform polysomnographic testing and related interventions in a clinical setting.

The role involves preparing equipment, applying sensors, scoring sleep stages, and assisting in data collection and reporting under supervision. A high school diploma or GED is required, with an Associate’s degree preferred, and prior clinical experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Age-specific care and effective communication with patients and families.
• Clinical observation and patient monitoring.
• Ability to follow polysomnography protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information and verifies the medical order.
• Registers patients and verifies insurance and demographics.
• Explains pre-testing, testing, and post-testing to patients and families.
• Prepares and calibrates equipment to ensure proper function.
• Applies electrodes and sensors per published standards.
• Performs data acquisition and monitors signal quality for artifacts.
