Job summary

Adventist Health Glendale is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipunctures, collect specimens, and support laboratory operations. The role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, patient interaction, and adherence to safety protocols.

The technician will work in a hospital setting, performing procedures under supervision, maintaining equipment, and contributing to quality control and timely reporting of results.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required in CA; preferred in OR and HI
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Phlebotomy Tech CPT I or CPT II or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license required in CA

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Verifies specimen identification and appropriateness of sample type/volume for the indicated testing.
• Processes samples using aseptic technique and prepares required paperwork for appropriate testing and reference lab testing.
• Confers with patients to obtain information for laboratory records and to explain procedures.
• Communicates effectively with other departments and staff to facilitate the flow and quality of lab work.
