Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older.
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Licensed or registered Pharmacy Technician with Texas State Board of Pharmacy; IV certification preferred.
Experience: three years of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile product procedures.

Responsibilities

Select medications according to dosage and patient file; deliver to care areas.
Stock and monitor drug inventory; maintain emergency medication trays.
Label and package unit dose medications; update pre-pack records.
Respond to medication requests from nursing and other departments.
Prepare intravenous antimicrobials, large-volume parenterals, TPN solutions and sterile products when required.
Document quality improvements and ensure compliance with safety checks.
