Job summary

Acme Construction Supply Co. in Beaverton, OR is seeking a Night Owl Delivery Driver to safely and promptly deliver products to job sites during night hours, supporting our Night Owl Delivery Service.

Responsibilities include operating the company vehicle, loading/unloading with a forklift, verifying paperwork, maintaining vehicle, and communicating with the Warehouse Manager to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year driving experience preferred.
• Forklift experience and ability to maintain certification.
• Clean driving record per Safety Rating Program; able to drive varied vehicles.
• Must be 21+ to meet auto insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Sequence deliveries and notify customers promptly.
• Verify paperwork matches products on truck.
• Inspect and secure all loads; load with forklift and hand.
• Deliver to job sites, place items in secured boxes and take photos.
• Note discrepancies and report to Warehouse Manager.
• Pick up return product as needed and route to processing.

Job description

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hour + Monthly incentive bonus after 90 days of employment.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Summary

The Night Owl Delivery Driver is primarily responsible for safe and timely delivery of product to job sites at night, executing the Companys Night Owl Delivery Service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate Company vehicle safely and courteously while following the rules of the road.
• Verify the daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle and report any problems with the vehicle to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Interior of the trucks must be kept clean, organized, and safely maintained.
• Comply with all DOT requirements and company policy regarding safety and compliance;
• Pre-plan deliveries and routes to ensure maximum efficiency and timing deadlines;
• Manifest jobs in the sequence of order delivery to ensure prompt notifications to our customers;
• Compare paperwork with product on truck to ensure accuracy of orders.
• Inspect and secure all loads on truck.
• Responsible for loading product (using both a forklift and hand loading) onto trucks, including items such as boxes, ladders, strut, etc.
• Hand unloading and delivering products/orders to specified job sites as part of a multi-stop route.
  • Product placed into secured job boxes at job sites.
  • Taking pictures of deliveries made using Innovo phone app.
  • Locking (securing) job boxes once delivery is complete
• Make note of any discrepancies and report them to the Warehouse Manager as soon as possible.
• Responsible for promptly picking up any return product (as needed) and ensuring that the product is delivered to the appropriate department for processing.

Qualifications/Skill Set

• A minimum of one-year experience in a driving position is preferred;
• Experience with forklift and ability to maintain forklift certification;
• Eligible driving record per the Companys Safety Rating Program and the ability to drive a range of vehicles, from small pick-up truck to 2-ton/5-speed flatbed diesel truck;
  • Must be 21 years of age to meet auto insurance requirements.

Physical Requirements

• The employee is regularly required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel a computer mouse or other computer equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects; stand, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
• May be required to move or traverse considerable distances in the facility during the course of a workday;
• Must have the physical abilities to perform essential warehouse tasks;
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3-4 feet and load product into trucks;
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time;
• Ability to ascend/descend a ladder to pull or put away product from shelving and racking;
• Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack and/or forklift in loading and unloading product.
