Hospice of Santa Cruz County is seeking a Night Nurse to provide after-hours support to patients and families enrolled in our hospice program. Working with the Triage team, you will respond to calls, offer phone guidance, and visit when needed to assess and intervene.
The ideal candidate will have an California RN license, a nursing degree, at least one year of RN experience, and experience in pain and symptom management and EMR documentation. Hospice or home health experience is preferred.
The Night Nurse is responsible for providing after hours support to patient/families admitted to hospice service. Working in collaboration with Triage, the Night Nurse responds to patient/family calls and intervenes appropriately, providing phone instruction/support or visit as assessed.
A Night Nurse demonstrates: sensitivity and compassion for the issues involved with serving patients and families facing a terminal illness, death and bereavement and clinical competence in pain and symptom management.
