Job summary

Dover Behavioral Health System in Dover, Delaware, seeks a Mental Health Technician to support adolescent and adult patients in the North Behavioral Health Unit. You will assist with direct patient care, monitor safety, and participate in treatment planning and admissions.

Shifts are 7 PM to 7 AM with every-other weekend rotation; the role involves group therapy facilitation and ongoing education within a trusted UHS network.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field.
• One year of direct work experience in a behavioral health environment.
• Experience in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adults and adolescents with a wide range of disorders, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Monitor patients closely and conduct observation rounds, prioritizing patient safety as the top concern.
• Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths.
• Assist in the admission process, including vital sign assessment, safety searches, specimen collection, and patient orientation.
• Plan, prepare, and conduct group therapy programs for patients.
• Participate in hospital codes as necessary for unit safety, partnering with the Charge Nurse to ensure successful shift operations and maintaining an engaging, therapeutic environment for high patient satisfaction.
