Job summary

Saint Luke’s Home in Springfield's historic district is seeking a dedicated Night Shift Caregiver to support residents with personal care, hydration, nutrition, medications, and daily activities, while preserving privacy and dignity.

You will work with nursing staff, may serve as charge person for a shift, document activities promptly, follow safety and infection control policies, and provide compassionate, person-centered care in a warm, community setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, and be able to communicate in English (Reference CMR 150-001).
• Ability to provide personal care with privacy and dignity; HHA or CNA course preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to relate to people of varying ages, cultures, and abilities.
• Able to remain physically active, lift and carry supplies, and assist in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Promotes well being including personal care, hydration and nutrition, exercise and socialization; documents vital signs and treatments.
• May serve as charge person for a shift; oversees nursing support and care.
• Communicates with residents, co-workers, families, and physicians.
• Documents activities promptly; notifies Administrator or DON of issues.
• Follows safety, infection control and hazardous materials policies.
• Attends mandated in-services and maintains confidentiality.
• Promotes and supports THSC mission and quality care.
• Team collaboration with all departments and continuous performance feedback.
