Job summary

BJC HealthCare’s inpatient psychiatry unit in Saint Louis, Missouri seeks a Psychiatric Charge Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care within a three-unit psychiatry department, including adult inpatients and related services. The role emphasizes nursing leadership, safety, and collaborative care with an interprofessional team.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license with a nursing diploma/associate’s, 2–5 years’ experience, and a preference for a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree required.
• RN license required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 2–5 years of nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates unit activities on a shift and provides direct patient care.
• Leads development and implementation of complex plans of care with the interprofessional team.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and facilitates practice change based on new knowledge.
• Analyzes care gaps and enhances patient and family experience to improve outcomes.
• Safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe practices.
