Job summary

White Plains Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Lactation Consultant RN for night shift coverage from 7 PM to 7:15 AM. You will assess lactation needs, plan and implement care, and collaborate with family, physicians and the care team to deliver comprehensive lactation services for mother-baby dyads.

Responsibilities include leading lactation education, supporting Baby Friendly initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies as part of the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• BSN required and NYS RN license
• IBCLC certification required; ACLS/NRP within specified timelines
• BLS and ACLS required upon hire; NRP within 6 months
• IBCLC certification must be current and valid

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements and evaluates lactation care per standards for inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Educates parents prenatally and supports Baby Friendly initiatives.
• Ensures donor milk processes meet regulatory requirements and documentation.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide direct patient lactation care and guidance.
