Job summary

Compass Group USA’s Canteen unit in Sumter, SC is hiring for Night Cook positions. Full-time opportunities with evening and weekend shifts are available, and open availability is preferred.

Location is Continental – 1805 US 521, Sumter, SC 29153, with online applications accepted. Qualified candidates will have prior cooking and food safety experience and be able to prepare high-quality meals according to standard recipes while maintaining proper temperatures and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking and food safety experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals and prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, and ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and arranged nicely.
• Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from area worked during service periods.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and ensures food and supply items are stored per standards.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
