Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Physician Assistant license required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Two years postgraduate experience in critical care, hospital medicine, emergency, surgical or equivalent acute care setting preferred.
• Procedural competency including ultrasound, airway management in a community hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary overnight critical care provider in the ICU (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with rotating weekends/holidays.
• Perform histories and physicals and initiate/interpret labs, radiology, and diagnostic tests.
• Initiate and sign out orders in coordination with attending physician.
• Manage mechanical ventilation under supervision of ICU physicians; respond to Codes and Rapid Responses.
• Assist ED physicians with critical care consultations and trauma eval; coordinate discharge planning and transfers.
