Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the Student Center. The role entails routine cleaning, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and performing floor care to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff.

The position requires physical stamina, the ability to follow instructions, and prior janitorial experience. On-site work with potential for remote/hybrid arrangement in line with university policy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and ability to follow instructions; capable of heavy physical work.
• Preferred 3+ years in janitorial/custodial work; supervisory experience a plus.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the Student Center.
• Clean and replace light fixtures and inspect areas daily.
• Scrub floors with a floor machine and maintain carpet areas.
