Job summary

Columbia Healthcare in Dothan, Alabama seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Emergency Department as a Nocturnist. The role offers a full-time schedule with an 8:00 PM–8:00 AM shift, supporting patients across age groups in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree (CRNP or PA), current NCCPA/NP certification, Alabama license, DEA, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing as a CRNP or Master’s degree from an accredited PA program.
• Current NCCPA PA certification or NP certification.
• Active Alabama license and DEA (or ability to obtain).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Perform advanced clinical assessments, diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries, order and interpret diagnostic testing, perform procedures within scope of practice.
• Collaborate closely with emergency physicians and multidisciplinary staff.
• Work within established clinical protocols while exercising a high degree of autonomy.
