Job summary

Union Ridge School District 86 in Harwood Heights, IL is hiring full-time Night Custodians to maintain a safe and secure environment after school hours. The shift runs 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, at a rate of $19 per hour.

The role reports to the Director of Building and Grounds and requires a high school diploma, a valid Illinois driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work from ladders, and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a current and valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb. and transport materials to various sites.
• Able to work off ladders.
• Able to operate equipment properly and safely.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Capable of using hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain building.
• Perform and assist in ground maintenance.
• Perform custodial functions and duties.
• Move equipment, materials, furniture, and supplies.
• Report any equipment needing repair to Director of Building and Grounds.
• Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and safe working environment.
• Open and secure buildings for after-hour usage and assist groups when needed.
• Ensure that all doors and windows are secured and designated lights are turned off.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds.
