Job summary

Gestamp in Chattanooga, TN seeks a maintenance technician to support welding assembly lines, diagnose electrical, pneumatic and mechanical faults, and troubleshoot Fanuc robots. Strong hands-on aptitude, ability to use hand tools, and safety-conscious work habits are essential.

You will improve plant operations through proactive PMs, 5S housekeeping, and effective turnover communication. Must be able to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and operate a forklift; 5 years of manufacturing

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics.
• Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
• Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
• 5 years manufacturing experience, automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve department communication through turnover activity and interpersonal relations.
• Increase department productivity by troubleshooting and PM activities with proper resource distribution.
• Contribute to 5S and plant housekeeping, including oil spills and environmental issues.
• Complete miscellaneous duties and projects with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Able to work shutdowns and holidays.
• Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

Job description

Production support to Welding Assembly lines, equipment fault recovery, electrical trouble shooting, pneumatic trouble shooting, mechanical aptitude/ability to use hand tools, ability to work in a fast paced environment, Fanuc robot knowledge/programming.

Key Responsibility

• Improve department communication through turnover activity and interpersonal relations.
• Increase productivity of department by managing troubleshooting, and PM activities through proper distribution of personnel resources.
• Contribute to the 5S, housekeeping of the entire plant, including but not limited to, being on call for any oil spills, environmental problems.
• Completion of miscellaneous duties and projects, excellent written and verbal skills.
• Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.
• Able to work shutdowns, Holidays.

Key Qualifications / Requirements

• Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
• Must be able to work at heights.
• Must have strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
• Electrical 12-volt dc to 600-volt ac basic working knowledge.
• Problem Solving – Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of the machine and recognize and solve quality problems of formed part.
