Job summary

Procon Consulting seeks an experienced Night Construction Inspector to support a roof replacement and exterior façade repair project at an occupied federal facility in Orlando, FL. This on-site role provides construction inspection and QA oversight during night shifts to ensure work adheres to contract documents, approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.

Minimum of 5 years in construction; strong ability to read drawings/submittals; OSHA knowledge; willing to work

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience, preferably involving inspection, QA/QC, or construction management.
• Experience as a Construction Inspector, QA/QC Inspector, QA/QC Manager, or similar field-based role.
• Bachelor’s degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, installation methods and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.
• Experience inspecting architectural, structural, MEP, and life-safety work.
• Knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare field reports and inspection records.
• Ability to work independently and make sound field observations and recommendations.
• Experience with roofing, exterior façade work, occupied facilities, or federal projects preferred.
• Willing to work night shift for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite night-shift inspection and QA oversight during construction activities.
• Inspect workmanship, materials, installation methods, and completed work for compliance with drawings, specs, and regulations.
• Monitor and document construction progress and verify conformance to plans and quality standards.
• Conduct field inspections across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety disciplines.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project docs to support field inspections.
• Identify deficiencies and coordinate with contractors to resolve them.
• Prepare detailed daily field reports, inspection records, and photos.
• Evaluate observed progress to support verification of contractor pay apps.
• Monitor contractor safety and OSHA compliance on site.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project representatives, and stakeholders.
• Support closeout activities, punch lists, testing and commissioning, and final inspections.
• Verify completed work meets contract requirements before final acceptance.
• Maintain accurate construction records throughout the project.
• Provide occasional day or weekend coverage as required.
