Job summary

Qualifications

• CMA certification required and state certification.
• Knowledge of five rights of medication administration.
• Ability to record and communicate medication administration accurately.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Records all medications given to residents in the chart and computer system.
• Monitors residents for reactions and reports to the licensed nurse.
• Assists with daily tasks to maintain resident health and well-being.
• Responds to resident call lights and checks on residents on the shift.
• Maintains safety and quality standards in medication administration.
• Administers PRN medications per policy and regulations.
• Notifies licensed staff of any changes in residents' condition.
