Job summary

UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA HOST PROPERTIES INC in Charlottesville seeks a reliable team member to maintain kitchen and restaurant equipment and keep the area clean and orderly. You will be responsible for cleaning all kitchen surfaces, appliances, and dining areas while following hygiene standards.

The role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and may involve occasional dishwashing duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to communicate orally with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to work 5-7 days per week in rotational shifts, if needed, including holidays and weekends.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean all kitchen equipment.
• Clean all stove tops.
• Clean all ovens inside and on top.
• Clean all deep fryers.
• Clean front line cooler drawers.
• Wipe down all tables in entire kitchen.
• Clean walls and ceiling vents.
• Empty all trash cans.
• Bring empty cardboard to dumpster.
• Hose-out garbage cans.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the loading dock.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
• Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.
• On occasion you will need to help with dishes.
