Job summary

Total Transportation & Distribution in Rancho Cucamonga, CA is hiring for a Graveyard Class A Driver / Yard Hostler. The role involves moving trailers and containers, inspecting equipment, and coordinating yard operations during a night shift from 11pm to 7:30am.

CDL and a clean driving record are required, with emphasis on safety and accurate record-keeping. Responsibilities include pre-/post-trip inspections, fuelings, driver logs, and shifting trailers to loading docks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have valid commercial driver's license.
• Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Must have 24 months previous tractor-trailer driving experience or be a graduate of a state-approved driving program.
• Must be able to operate handheld minicomputer when required.
• Must have good oral communications skills.
• Must meet medical standards.
• Must pass drug and alcohol tests.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers safely between loading docks, parking areas, and staging zones.
• Move straight trucks in and out of loading docks and yards.
• Verify trailer numbers with accuracy.
• Fuel vehicles at assigned stations as needed.
• Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and Driver Logs accurately.
• Inspect equipment and report any damage or maintenance needs.
• Coordinate trailer movements with warehouse and logistics staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard.
• Operate yard tractors and pallet jacks as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
