Job Summary
The primary duties of the night auditor are to check front office, restaurant, and bar accounting records for accuracy, post and balance charges and settlements in a timely manner, and compile information for financial records. They assist guests with check-in and check-out processes, provide hotel services information, and accommodate guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous, and friendly manner.

- Prepare daily restaurant revenue reports by auditing Micros tapes/journals to break down revenue, covers, server tips paid out, and settlements by type and cashier.
- Run audit reports/journals.
- Make corrections and adjustments; handle computer issues during shifts.
- Input revenue, expenses, and allowances into the computer to generate daily reports such as Guest Ledger Summary and Daily Restaurant Summary.
- Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files, and reset systems for next day operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller and Assistant Controller based on department needs.
- Ensure all reports and backup vouchers are complete and properly filed.
- Distribute copies of documents/backups and reports to relevant departments (A/R, A/P, Payroll).
- Review and correct discrepancies in the Front Desk System.
- Coordinate with front desk and restaurant/bar closing to ensure smooth operations and system resets.
- Greet customers promptly with a friendly, sincere welcome; use positive communication; listen and respond appropriately; provide accurate information about outlets and local attractions.
- Complete registration by inputting and retrieving information, confirming guest details, selecting rooms, coding keys, and handling guest needs. Requires standing and moving throughout front office areas.
- Verify credit cards for authorization, handle cash and other payments, perform arithmetic functions, and post charges to guest accounts.
- Answer phones promptly and professionally, take messages, and handle mail, packages, and facsimiles as requested.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety, and security procedures, including emergency protocols and the use of protective equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and property damage.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance as per the team member handbook.
- Assist other front desk personnel as needed and perform any additional duties as directed by supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The hotel may consider equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Knowledge of accounting operations, including accounts receivable and payable.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch.
- Effective communication skills to handle guest and employee concerns positively.
- Ability to accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and telephone etiquette.
- Hearing and visual acuity to observe emergency signs and situations.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and move throughout the front office area continuously.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, standing, and walking.
- Frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
