Job summary

Kana Hotel Group in Knoxville, TN is seeking a friendly Front Desk Agent to welcome guests, handle check-ins and check-outs, and answer questions. You will operate the front desk system, process cash and card transactions, and explain hotel amenities.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, prior hospitality or customer service experience, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Training covers concierge services, safety procedures, and local area knowledge to assist

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and organized.
• Knowledge of hotel layout, amenities, and procedures is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Run daily audit functions per hotel standards
• Review guaranteed arrivals and verify credit cards
• Explain promotional items to guests at check-in
• Explain hotel amenities to guests (breakfast, spa, fitness, voicemail)
• Respond promptly to guest inquiries or complaints
• Offer alternate solutions if guest demand cannot be met
• Cover other areas of the hotel as needed
• Document guest accidents via accident report form
• Complete maintenance log when a complaint is reported
• Maintain front desk areas; stay clean and organized
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Primary Responsibilities

Fixed schedule: Friday - Monday. Off Tuesday-Thursday

• Run daily audit functions per hotel standards
• Review all guaranteed arrivals and verify that all credit cards are valid
• Explain and provide any promotional items to each guest checking in
• Explain various hotel amenities such as free breakfast, spa, fitness center, voice mail, etc. to guests
• Responds promptly to any guest inquiries or complaints
• Offer alternate solution if guest demand cannot be met
• Covers other areas of hotel as needed
• Document any guest accidents by completing the accident report form
• Complete the maintenance log whenever a complaint is reported
• Maintain all areas of the front desk; clean and organized
• Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• High School diploma/GED required
• Previous experience in hospitality preferred
• Customer service experience required
• Experience handling cash, credit card procedures, and use math concepts
• Attention to detail and organized
• Knowledge of the hotel layout, all amenities offered, and all procedures & organization.
• Knowledge of local geographic area knowledge, area businesses & services, major highway/street information, and community events & attractions.
