Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo seeks a Speech Pathologist/Therapist to perform speech and language evaluations and treatments under supervision, maintaining high quality patient care.

The role involves potential orientation of staff and students and may assume supervisor duties when needed. A sign-on bonus is available and the hospital emphasizes career development within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Master’s level SLP/CF and current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
• Ability to respond to pages.
• Ability to lift and transfer patients exerting 50 – 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 – 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to tolerate prolonged walking and standing.
• Ability to have sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms.
• Ability to deal with a variety of stressful situations including emergency response to patient incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language evaluations and treatments in accordance with hospital policies.
• May orient staff and students and assume duties of the supervisor in their absence.
