Job summary

The Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse (NICU RN) provides care to neonates in the NICU using the Nursing Process in line with state laws and hospital policy. The role requires clinical competence, critical thinking, and leadership in planning safe delivery of care and coordinating with the care team.

Responsibilities include maintaining certifications, following established guidelines, and ensuring accurate documentation and patient education while supporting a respectful, ethical care

• Maintains clinical competency and ongoing professional development.
• Knowledgeable of NICU care standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide NICU patient care under the Nursing Process.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgement and leadership in planning and delivering care.
• Maintain documentation accuracy and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
• Support patient and family education and ensure continuity of care during shift transitions.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, ethical patient care.
