Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a PRN NICU RN to provide high‑level nursing care for neonatal patients. The role uses the nursing process from assessment to evaluation, supporting mission and patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, active Texas RN license (or eligibility), BLS and NRP certifications, and at least 1 year of NICU experience. Weekend/holiday rotations and 12‑hour shifts are possible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so.
• At least 1 year NICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
• Utilizes communication, interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family education.
• Communicates with team, patients and families; ensures understanding of information.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff and facility.
• Ensures accurate and timely written patient information.
• Delivers safe, accurate IV/medication administration.
• Pursues performance improvement and professional growth.
• Applies the nursing process to ensure quality care throughout the episode.
• Other duties as assigned.
