UC San Diego Health is launching a Nurse Residency Program Cohort in March 2027. The NICU RN will care for critically ill neonates in Level III and II NICUs, support student learning, and precept new staff.

New Graduates will train at Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla and Hillcrest Medical Center, with precepted practice transitions and accreditation by ANCC for Practice Transition Programs.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license by start date. Depending on applicant pool, may consider interim permits.
• BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
• Current Advanced NRP certification (with AAP/AHA affiliation).
• Licensure and certification due by cohort start date of March 5, 2027.
• Must have less than six months of working RN experience.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide care to critically ill neonate patients in Level III/II NICUs.
• Precept new employees and support student learning.
• Attend high‑risk deliveries after orientation.
• Orient and train New Grad RN in multiple locations.
• Promote compliance with policies and support professional relationships.
