Job summary

Jobot is seeking a NICU Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Houston, TX to support a high-acuity neonatal population. The role requires a PharmD and a PGY2 Pediatrics in many cases, with NICU experience preferred and Texas licensure or licensure readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized clinical pharmacy services for critically ill neonatal patients in the NICU.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize therapy and outcomes.
• Serve as educator, mentor and preceptor for staff, residents and students.
• Participate in clinical research, medication utilization programs and quality improvement.
• Work five 8-hour shifts with on-call rotation approximately every 8–9 weeks.

Job Details

• Provide specialized clinical pharmacy services for critically ill neonatal patients within the NICU
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
• Serve as a clinical expert, educator, mentor, and preceptor for pharmacy staff, residents, and students
• Participate in clinical research, medication utilization programs, quality improvement initiatives, and cost‑containment efforts
• Work a day‑shift schedule consisting of five 8-hour shifts with an on‑call rotation approximately every 8 to 9 weeks

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Completion of a PGY2 Residency in Pediatrics preferred; PGY2 Critical Care candidates with current NICU experience may be considered
• Dedicated NICU clinical pharmacy experience, including direct care of critically ill neonates
• Active Texas Pharmacist license or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment
