Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a NICU Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Houston, TX to deliver expert pharmaceutical care to critically ill neonates in a hospital-based setting.

You will partner with the healthcare team, mentor students and residents, and lead cost-containment and quality-improvement initiatives while ensuring patient safety and adherence to all policies.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree with completion of a PGY2 residency in Pediatrics or Critical Care with NICU experience.
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Texas.
• Proven NICU clinical pharmacy experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with pharmacy and hospital computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to neonates in the NICU
• Develop and maintain communication systems to ensure effective information flow among staff
• Mentor and educate pharmacy students, staff, and residents
• Identify opportunities for cost containment and improvements in clinical pharmacy services
• Plan and manage resources to ensure continuity of care across settings
• Participate in clinical research to evaluate drug and regimen outcomes
• Develop and implement utilization reviews and medication use assessments
• Oversee clinical students and residency program to ensure high-quality educational experiences
• Ensure safety and adherence to all policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of service
