Job summary

Connecticut Children’s in Hartford, CT is seeking a Unit Leader to oversee inpatient nursing unit operations, ensure staffing, and manage resources. You will collaborate with the Nurse Manager on staff development and policy enforcement to deliver high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have a BSN (or plan to obtain within 3 years), CT RN licensure, and 5+ years nursing experience; management experience is preferred, with BLS required at hire.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must obtain BSN within 3 years of hire.
• Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR required upon hire.
• Minimum 5 years relevant nursing experience required.
• Management experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates day-to-day activities and unit operations on an inpatient nursing unit.
• Ensures staffing levels and allocates resources; assists with budget variances and planning.
• Leads performance management, coaching, feedback and appraisals for staff.
• Oversees staff orientation, recruitment, and shift coverage; resolves resource issues.
• Drives unit scorecard goals and supports shared governance and rounding for influence.
