GAI Consultants is seeking a Construction Coordinator responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The Construction Coordinator prepares daily progress reports, maintains progress schedules, checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations, keeps records of quantities and costs of materials used, and prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims while recommending payments. The Construction Coordinator may supervise a staff of inspectors.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.
- Ensure compliance with the contractor's health and safety plan.
- Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents.
- Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy.
- Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with GAI's and the Owner's requirements.
- Maintain effective oral and written communication.
- Follow and convey instructions clearly.
- Utilize computers and common office equipment efficiently.
- Perform physical activities such as bending, stretching, kneeling, sitting, and standing.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Wear required personal protective gear/equipment.
- React appropriately to hazardous warnings and signals.
- Perform manual labor infrequently.
- Work in adverse weather conditions occasionally.
- Limit exposure to chemicals.
Other Principal Duties:
- Travel as required related to duties or as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain a positive attitude to foster competence and pride in the company.
- Perform other duties as required, consistent with the position.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education; ability to read, write, communicate in English, and perform basic math computations.
- Preferred certifications include: BS Civil Engineering, TCIS experience, NICET Level 2 or higher, NECEPT Bituminous certification, ACI/PennDOT Concrete technician, PennDOT/PTC CDS, ECMS experience, OSHA 10-Hour certification.
General Characteristics
- Assist Task Managers and Project Managers on technical aspects; well-rounded in consulting and industry aspects.
