Job summary

Green Acres Baptist Church (GABC) is seeking a Christ-centered Youth Leader/Director to shepherd children, youth, and young adults. Occasional pulpit supply is possible, and the role may evolve toward an Associate Pastor position for candidates who demonstrate gifting and meet biblical qualifications.

The position oversees ministries for Birth–6th Grade, 6th–12th Grade, and College & Career adults, requiring a full-time schedule, Sunday ministry, and cooperation with the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications

• Biblical qualifications consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1–7.
• Growing personal walk with Christ, humility, integrity, and love.
• Ordained or eligible for immediate ordination.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2–5 years in youth or family ministry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead next-generation ministries: plan discipleship gatherings, events, and outreach for children, youth, and young adults.
• Disciple students and families: mentor students and support parents as primary disciple-makers.
• Teach the Word faithfully: communicate Scripture aligned with Southern Baptist doctrine.
• Provide pastoral care: guidance and biblical counsel within Georgia law.
• Conduct visitation: hospital, home, and crisis visitation with pastoral team.
• Occasional pulpit supply: preach or teach in worship services.
• Equip volunteers: recruit, train, and lead regular leadership meetings.
• Attend weekly services, prayer meetings, major events.
• Collaborate with Senior Pastor: communicate ministry direction and needs.

This role includes opportunities for occasional pulpit supply and may grow into an Associate Pastor position for candidates who demonstrate pastoral gifting and meet biblical qualifications.
Ministry Overview
The Youth Leader/Director provides leadership for Children (Birth–6th Grade), Youth (6th–12th Grade), and Young Adults (College & Career). We are seeking someone who loves the Lord, loves people, and desires to see the next generation grow into lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead Next-Generation Ministries — Plan and oversee Bible studies, discipleship gatherings, retreats, events, and outreach for children, youth, and young adults.
• Disciple Students and Families — Build relationships, mentor students, and support parents as primary disciple-makers.

Qualifications

• Biblical Qualifications consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1–7.

• Ability to connect with children, teens, young adults, and parents.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) and GABC Constitution & By-Laws.
• Ordained or eligible for immediate ordination.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience: 2–5 years in youth or family ministry preferred.

Work Expectations

• Full-time salaried role (minimum 40 hours/week).
• Sunday is a required ministry day.
• Maintain a consistent office schedule.
• Be available to students and families in times of need.
• Participate fully in the worshiping life of the church.
