NewsNation in New York seeks an experienced part-time Technical Director for national newscasts, based in our New York studios. You will prepare and switch video elements during live and pre-recorded programming, and you must be proficient with Ross Acuity Switcher, Ross XPression, and Tessera platforms.

The role requires 5+ years in live TV operations, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with a team.

Qualifications

• Five plus (5+) years’ experience in professional live television broadcast operations required.
• Must be proficient with operation of broadcast equipment within assigned area, including but not limited to switchers, routing, CGs, video playback, remote camera operation.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Candidate should be a problem solver and quick thinker to resolve issues during live news.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and switch video elements during live and pre-recorded programming, following director’s cues and ensuring high-quality output.
• Build switcher effects, create Ross templates and shots.
• Train others or create training documentation as needed.
• Communicate and document effectively with the team.
• Maintain flexibility for shifts across the schedule and be ready for on-site teamwork.
