Job summary

The NAB Leadership Foundation is seeking an experienced producer to assist in control room operations, pitch story ideas, and craft scripts for live broadcasts. You will mentor staff and coordinate with executives to deliver compelling national news segments.

Candidates should have a journalism degree, experience producing for national programs, and strong news judgment. ENPS proficiency and the ability to work flexible shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience producing for a national news program or top 10 market newscasts.
• Proficiency with ENPS and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in control room breaking news.
• Pitch stories and segment ideas regularly.
• Research topics using the Internet, archives, and other information sources.
• Select strongest elements to help tell stories.
• Write, organize, and produce scripts for show and interview segments.
• Assist in preparing and executing live, compelling television newscasts.
• Keep Executive Producer and Senior Producer apprised of story developments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Mentor other staff members.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the control room breaking news


• Pitch stories and segment ideas regularly


• Research topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources.


• Select strongest possible elements to help best tell stories.


• Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for show and interview segments or packages.


• Assist in preparing and executing live, compelling television newscasts.


• Keep Executive Producer and Senior Producer apprised of developments of stories.


• Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Producer and Senior Producer or network leadership.


• Mentor other staff members.

• Experience covering politics and government


• Strong news judgement

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

• Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously


• Proficiency with ENPS

Salary Range : $66,300 to 80,000 (per experience)
