Job summary

Newmar Corporation, part of Winnebago Industries, is seeking an RV Service Technician to diagnose, inspect, and repair RVs for retail and warranty customers. Based in Beaumont, TX or Marco Island, FL, candidates must reside or relocate to the area and travel as needed.

You will work with the service team to diagnose systems, perform repairs on living quarters, appliances, and components, maintain parts stock, and support shows and dealer trainings.

Qualifications

• Degree related to mechanical repair or automotive technology desirable but not required.
• Previous RV service technician or extensive RV assembler experience required.
• RV vehicle systems knowledge.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Access to RV repair tools.
• Certifications in RV tech are helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, manages and completes a customer’s repair work order including services/parts required, recording time, and notifying changes.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on RV systems, living quarters, appliances, and components.
• Maintains current knowledge of how major RV systems operate.
• Collaborates with service center team to diagnose and repair RVs as needed.
• Supports service tech activities at retail shows and dealer training events.
• Participates in field events, training, and meetings.
• Maintains stock of parts and accurate parts inventory records.
• Ensures proper maintenance of service vehicle.
• Follows health and safety policies and Code of Conduct.
• Completes other duties as determined by Newmar leaders.

Primary Objective of Position:

Diagnose, inspect, adjust, and perform repairs on the recreational vehicles (RV) of retail and warranty customers, in a timely manner and according to industry standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Initiates, manages and completes a customer’s repair work order including the services/parts required, recording of time worked, documentation of cause/correction, and notifications of changes to original repair order.
• Performs a variety of repair and maintenance functions as assigned and listed on the customer’s work repair order, including but not limited to repairs related to vehicle systems, living quarters, appliances, and components.
• Maintains a current knowledge of how major systems and components operate in an RV.
• Collaborates closely with service center team members to assist in the diagnoses and repair of a customer’s RV as needed.
• Takes responsibility for supporting other service center team responsibilities, including but not limited to providing service tech support at retail shows, dealer training events.
• Participates in required field events, training events and meetings.
• Maintains an adequate stock of parts and an accurate record of parts inventory.
• Ensures proper maintenance and care of service vehicle.
• Follows all company health and safety policies and report immediately on the job unsafe acts, injuries, or illnesses.
• Complies with the company’s Code of Conduct.
• Completes other job duties as determined necessary by Newmar leaders.

Education & Experience

• Degree related to mechanical repair, automotive technology, or construction desirable, but not required.
• Previous RV service technician or extensive RV assembler experience required.
• RV Tech related certifications helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of RV vehicle systems.
• Prior technical work experience in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry is highly desired.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Access to RV repair tools.

These positions are based in Beaumont, Texas, or Marco Island, Florida; candidates must reside in these areas or be open to relocation.
