FOX 29 in Philadelphia seeks a creative, experienced Newscast Director to lead the production and execution of all on-air newscasts and programming. You will collaborate with producers and talent to bring bold visuals to life and ensure polished broadcast quality.
The role requires 2–3 years in control room work, directorial experience in a top market, and familiarity with production automation tools like Sony ELC, Chyron, and Tricaster. A flexible schedule supports a 24/7 news environment.
Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

We are seeking a creative, experienced Newscast Director to lead the production and execution of all on-air newscasts, original programming, and all other on-air productions. This isn’t a job where you just push buttons; you will be a key collaborative voice, working closely with producers and on-air talent to bring the vision of our broadcasts to life.
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of control room experience is required. Ideal candidate: 2+ years of directing experience in a top 20 market, or 3+ years in smaller markets. Technical Savvy: Ability to direct—or quickly learn to direct—using production automation. Knowledge of Sony ELC, Chyron, and Tricaster experience is a major plus. Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate creative visions clearly to producers and talent. Flexibility: Must have a flexible schedule with the availability to support various shifts and operational coverage as required by a 24/7 news environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A professional who is sensitive to deadlines, possesses a meticulous eye for detail, and is excited to work outside the traditional news mold.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $34.30 per hour.
