Job summary

Paramount's KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh seeks a News Producer to lead daily newscasts across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.

You will make editorial decisions, craft scripts, and coordinate with anchors, reporters, and control room staff under tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate has CBS O&O newsroom experience, strong news judgment, and a commitment to accuracy and engaging storytelling for local audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or equivalent professional experience.
• 2–5 years of newsroom production experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work under aggressive deadlines.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and breaking news.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily newscasts with story selection, pacing, and tone.
• Write and edit clear copy for anchors, teases, and live situations.
• Coordinate with reporters and photographers to sharpen story focus and visuals.
• Build and execute rundowns; communicate with directors and control room during live broadcasts.
• Understand video editing workflows and support streaming/digital newscasts.
• Collaborate with assignment desk, editors, reporters, and photojournalists; contribute enterprise ideas.
